Welcome to our newly elected Librarians.

As the newly elected Librarians, we are really excited about promoting books and reading throughout the school and in our classes. We had our first meeting this week where we shared our ideas for the year ahead. This was held in our newly refurbished library, where there are now lots of comfortable, bright beanbags and a large colourful reading mat. Some of us have already been trained on how to use the Junior Librarian book scanning system and we are keen to share this to train each other. Our first big job this term was to celebrate National Poetry Day on Thursday 28th September, by displaying poetry books in our class reading areas and sharing our favourite poems. We are excited about planning our next big event in the Spring term: World Book Day on 1st March 2018.

Summer Reading Challenge

Summer Reading Challenge 1
Well done to our Librarians and all other pupils in our school who completed the Summer Reading Challenge organised by Harrogate Library Service. This year’s Summer Reading Challenge was 'Animal Agents', illustrated by the UK’s best-selling children’s illustrator Tony Ross. Everyone who took part received a certificate in the Special Mentions Assembly.
