Summer Jamboree – 22nd June
Verity Frearson Boards
Thanks for all those who have agreed to have a VF board outside their house – the easiest £25 the PTA can make! We would love to secure a few more so if you live on a main route around town and wouldn’t mind a board temporarily outside your house, please do let us know on Classlist or at firstname.lastname@example.org the boards will be placed and removed for you – so no work required from you!
Every year each class takes responsibility for running a stall for the Jamboree and these run from 3-5pm. Class reps have been great in taking on stalls for each of your classes so please support them by offering some time on the day to cover a stint on the stall. That way it’s shared out, avoiding one person being tied up and unable to enjoy the event. So, please find your class rep and offer to help if you can (details of all the Class Reps are on Classlist and you can message them there too).
Plea for sweetie jars & donations
We are also of course, seeking donations of sweetie jars and donations for prizes for the Tombola, these can be brought directly into school.
If you own or work for a business which could donate or sponsor a prize for the raffle or one of the competition stalls please contact Carl Wright or Karen Lister - either in the playground or via Classlist.
The Summer Jamboree is a great event for both kids and parents and a fab fundraiser for the school so any and all support in making this happen is greatly appreciated!

You don’t have to be in a team already, come along, we have a lot of people who are not in teams and we’ll make them up on the night. Hosted by DJ legend Alex B Cann, fuelled with fish and chips and a licensed bar. Form a team and take on pals, pit yourself against the teachers team, or just come along join a team and meet some new people.
Help is still needed for some of the smaller jobs, If you feel you can contribute in anyway at all it would be greatly appreciated so either grab Karen Lister in the playground or email firstname.lastname@example.org . This event raised an awesome £3000 pounds for the school last year and was great fun for both families form the school and the wider community. It would be a real shame if we didn’t have the support to run it.
We have recently funded coaches for School Trips and the School needs our help in order to continue supporting being able to organise trips. We really need the parent community to help, do you have contacts at any local coach companies? Do you have an idea how we can raise money to pay for the coaches? If so please do let us know!

Movies – Peter Rabbit – Wed 10th April 3.30pm – 5.30pm
Deadline for signing-up Monday 8th April - 6 pm
This event is being managed solely through Classlist and unfortunately there will be no admission to children not on the event list. The reason for the change to procedure is twofold; primarily for safeguarding, it is really important the event list is accurate and also administrative reasons, as a large amount of volunteer time is spent unnecessarily chasing payments and updating spreadsheets. So please just log on to Classlist.com or use the Classlist app to purchase tickets in the events section.
Year 6 Hoodies
Today is the last day for payments and orders. Thank You Jo Beagley and Miss Mansfield for organising the hoodies!

Hosted by DJ legend Alex B Cann, fuelled with fish and chips and a licensed bar. Form a team and take on pals, pit yourself against the teachers team, or just come along join a team and meet some new folk, tickets to released on Classlist.
Plea for help - Summer Jamboree – 22nd June (fingers crossed)
We are trying to get a group together to assist with running this event. There are a number of jobs to be done to make an event like this happen - some big, some small, but all important - so if you feel you contribute in anyway at all it would be greatly appreciated so either grab Karen Lister in the playground or email firstname.lastname@example.org . This event raised an awesome £3000 pounds for the school last year and was great fun for both families form the school and the wider community. It would be a real shame if we didn’t have the support to run it.
Handy with tools? A Carpenter? Please can you spare 2 hours of your time?
If anyone has carpentry skills and would be OK to help with building the frame for the Knaresborough Bedrace, please can you let Viv Melville know. Miss Joseph and the children have put in a massive effort with very grand designs for the bed this year, podium potential for the best dressed bed! We just need a couple of volunteers who are handy with tools to help us out.
On Monday 18th February, Mrs Evans and Mr Wright (from the PTA) came into school for a special assembly all about playground equipment. The PTA have worked hard to raise money for brand new equipment which has made our playtimes even more fun and enjoyable. We have had: tail balls, jumbo dominoes, footballs, sponge balls, bean bag catchers and catch cups all added to our collection of equipment. We asked some children what they thought of the new equipment:
‘The new equipment is super because there’s more for everyone to play with.’ Ezekiel Y4
‘I like the bean bag catchers the best because they’re challenging.’ Hannah Y6
‘It’s really fun. I like the tail balls the best!’ Ruby Y3
We hope that the children continue to enjoy the equipment.
Mia and Kuba (Cheetahs)
On behalf of the PTA, teachers, parents who had a great night and all the children who will now benefit from a new piano, a huge thank you to Lyndsay Snodgrass for the time, effort and hard work she put in to recreating a pub in the school hall – it was brilliant! Thank you Lyndsay!
