Daily Personal Best Challenge - The site shows you how you can adapt the equipment you will require and then how you can do this activity safely:

Real Play PE Resources: This includes suggested activities for Early Years and Key Stage 1, as well as Key Stage 2 children with daily and weekly guidance. There are lots of opportunities to choose your own themes and challenges.

Mindfulness

Mindful or Calming Jars – these are a great craft activity that can then be saved and used to help children (and adults!) practise mindfulness techniques. Both the act of making the ‘calming jar’ and watching the glitter within swirl and settle are fantastic for helping children to feel relaxed. Instructions, as well as other mindful practices, can be found here:

Colouring - Millie Marotta, who created the Millie Marotta’s Animal Kingdom colouring book

has produced this mandala-esque heart colouring activity that is at once calming and celebrates the amazing work of the NHS:

Arts and Crafts

ArtHubforKids – YouTube-led drawing of well know characters and cartoons with a step by step guide by video. Huge resource found online either on YouTube or the following website:

Wax resist fish: create a watery scene full of colourful fish.

 

You will need: paper, wax crayons, watercolour paint and a brush.

 

Before you start, put down some newspaper to protect the surface you are working on, and put on an apron to protect your clothes.

Fun and Games

30 days Lego Challenge – for any Lego fans, there are 30 different challenges to make with the Lego you have at home. You can download and print the challenge calendar with all the activities at:

Quiet Time

· Story time with Piers Torday – live on Instagram daily at 2.30pm these are available for 24 hours.

· Elevenses with David Walliams – a new audio story is released every day.

 · Free audiobooks at Audible – a collection of titles for each age group including  many of the classics that all the family can enjoy listening to.  
· Get your children to write in a diary what they did each day – this can be a clear sign that the ‘school’ day has ended.
· Ask grandparents to listen to your children read on FaceTime (or ask grandparents to read to younger children).
· Ask them to help you cook and bake.
