Christmas in the library!

Visit our wonderful library...

Meet the Librarians 2021-22

This year our wonderful new librarians will be helping Mrs Nicholson and Mrs Wilkinson with various projects both in the library and in classes. We want to find out more about everyone’s reading habits and add even more variety and choice to our book corners. The librarians are also keen to research and introduce the work of different authors to their classes.

Librarians 2019-20

Congratulations and welcome to our new Librarians! We are looking forward to an exciting and busy year. The Librarians will be helping Mrs Wilkinson to promote reading around the school, delivering newspapers to ensure each class stays up to date with current affairs and leading their classes during library lessons. The Librarians are already well underway in the creation of an outdoor 'Reading Retreat' for all children to use and enjoy during their break and lunchtimes and will be setting about redesigning the library now that our new extension is complete!

Find out about war.

The Y5 and Y6 Librarians spent time in the Library this week finding books to make a display about War.  Classes this week have been thinking about the 100 years since the end of World War One, and Y5 and 6 are studying World War Two.

They worked hard to find books which covered many aspects of war: rationing, the Land Army, evacuees, training for the Armed Services and details about key battles and places are some of important pages which can be read about if you go into the Library.

School Librarians 2018 -19

Welcome to our newly elected Librarians.

We have had our first meeting, where we found out how to help our classes when they visit the Library, and how to look after the Library.

Our first task for this year is to create a display of poetry books in all our classrooms ready to celebrate National Poetry Day on Thursday October 4th. We are also going to be helping in an assembly on that day.

Another job we will have is to keep our classes informed about some author visits to Ripon and Skipton Libraries, which are coming up soon.  David Almond (Saturday 29th September) and Kate Wakeling (Saturday 13th October) are visiting Ripon Library. On Saturday 20th October, Ripon and Skipton Libraries are holding  'Crime Scenes Investigation Workshops' for budding  CSIs to get involved in forensic detecting.
