Year 3 Badgers

We're the Badgers!

Welcome to our class.

We're clean and tidy, strong and protecting. We work hard and make friends for life.

"The more you read, the more things you will know.

The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."

                                                                                 Dr Seuss

Our class teachers are Miss Houseman (Mon, Tues) and Miss Hind (Wed - Fri)

Things to note:

Monday - Spellings handed out.

Tuesday & Thursday - Wear PE kit to school.

Friday - Have diaries signed; spelling test.

Our class novel is The Giggler Treatment by Roddy Doyle.

Flamingo Land visit - 2nd February

As part of our 'Rainforests' topic, we visited Flamingo Land, where we were able to see many animals, some of which are native to the rainforest. We enjoyed a tour of the park, with our guide, Adam and a workshop with Kieran. Here, we were able to see and touch some of the smaller rainforest creatures and Miss Hind, Mrs Viney-Everitt and Mrs Macnair even got to hold a snake and a giant cockroach! After lunch, we watched the sea lion performance. It was such a great day and we were very lucky with both the weather and the small number of visitors. The children were so excited to be out on a trip after the restrictions of the last couple of years and it really was wonderful to see their smiling faces! Well done to everyone for being such superstars.

Marvin, the sealion, shows off his ball skills!

Well done to Samantha and Joshua for earning a Special Mention in the second half of the Autumn term. Samantha always makes insightful contributions to classroom discussion and works hard in all she does. She has a calm, caring manner and is a great friend to all. Joshua has come on leaps and bounds in his learning since September and we have been impressed with his determination to succeed, especially in English! Well done to both of you for such great work!

Well done to Lulu and Jack for receiving the first Special Mentions of the year! It was an incredibly difficult choice to make, given the great start that the Badgers have made, but these two have stood out.  Lulu has made the transition to a new school and area brilliantly, settling in well and always presenting her work to a really high standard. Jack is a super listener and is always cheerful, helpful and positive. Well done!
