This week, some of the awesome Lemurs took part in the Bikeability course. The National Standard for Cycle Training / Bikeability has been introduced by the DFT with the aim of helping more people cycle more safely more often. Bikeability courses provides riders with the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to cycle safely on today’s roads.
This two-day course is delivered by North Yorkshire County Council and teaches riders to make independent decisions focusing upon practicing safe and responsible cycling. The course is also a unique opportunity for your child to improve their overall understanding of how roads work. Evidence also shows that cycle training improves spatial awareness and hazard perception skills.
The children had a great time and demonstrated superb cycling skills!
