The Award goes to....Shreya Raghunam
Shreya’s final piece, a colourful drawing of a Hawksbill Sea Turtle has captured the movement of this magnificent creature. She has used the skills learnt over the last few weeks to draw what she can see and to use line and tone to create a 3d effect on a 2d drawing. Shreya, your drawing is sensational, well done.
Mrs Alderson.

Milo has achieved a superb observational study this week, experimenting how drawings differ when the same object is drawn from memory and then observation. His observational drawing of a camera is incredible. Such care is shown in his drawings and his line and tone creates depth. A great piece of work, Milo. Well done.

The end products are wonderful, what an impressive set of drawings, you should be very proud Henry. Well done! Mrs Alderson.
Class Novel - Spring 2021
The Night Bus Hero by Onjali Q. Rauf
'The boy's an absolute menace.'
'He's a bully. A lost cause!'
'Why can't he be more like his sister?'
I've been getting into trouble for as long I can remember. Usually I don't mind 'cos some of my best, most brilliant ideas have come from sitting in detention.
But recently it feels like no one believes me about anything - even when I'm telling the truth! And it's only gotten worse since I played a prank on the old man who lives in the park.
Everyone thinks I'm just a bully. They don't believe I could be a hero.
But I'm going to prove them all wrong...
Well done Sami and Jenna! You should be really proud of all your hard work this half term.
We've been getting into the Christmas spirit this week by creating some fabulous crafts. We've made calendars, cards and decorated festive tea light holders and sun catchers! Just look at our brilliant work!
A huge well done to all of the Macaws this week. We have had a fantastic week learning all about science. All of the children have enjoyed planning their experiments linked to our Science Superheroes:
Today we have been raising money for Children in Need, taking part in the last 20 minutes of Joe Wick's 24 hour PE challenge. All the children looked fantastic in the pyjamas and onesies! We have spent the week looking at the ‘Five to Thrive’ activities which have included -
On Wednesday 11th November, the Macaws class learnt about the Harrogate born RAF pilot, Brain Lane, who went missing in action in December 1942. Brian Lane has a small memorial in London and the children designed their own memorials that could be placed in Harrogate to celebrate the local war veteran.
Congratulations to our special mentions winner, Ellie and Finlay. You should be incredibly proud of all your hard work from this half term.
Whilst we have not been able to celebrate Harvest Festival in the usual way at school, in our RE lesson this week we have learnt lots about the traditions of the festival and when it first started. We researched our own facts and created some very informative fact files. Here are some examples of our work.
